BOURBON

To make a good bourbon you have to start with good chemistry, equipment, and raw distillate. We proudly source from some of the finest distillers in America - a proven secret for some of the finest whiskies in the world. From here we add value in the only way we know how: through our Architecture, with our Love of nature, with the hour glass of time, and by ONLY offering single barrel products. Each barrel has it's unique story to tell - we never blend. We don’t add any frivolous flavors to our whiskey. We keep our recipe simple. We want our whiskey consumed over a couple of ice cubes and the lost art of conversation. Our bottles are purposefully smaller - to be enjoyed in a single sitting or adventure. Each bottle is handcrafted by the owners - wrapped in a uniquely branded leather strap. We want you to enjoy the time, remember that day, that person, that story - forever. To us the value of whiskey is one part chemistry and art the other part story and kinship - to us the most valuable element of any life well lived.

This single barrel, straight bourbon is aged a minimum of 4 years for exceptional smoothness and drinkability. It's sweeter and lighter than our high rye offerings, with notes of vanilla and caramel on the pallet. It finishes smooth and lingers just long enough to enjoy the full flavor profile of the wheated mash bill. It is best enjoyed neat, or with a single cube of ice.

A single barrel, straight bourbon that has a bit more black pepper on the nose, and spice/smoke on the pallet than our high wheat offerings. The mash-bill is higher in rye content than most other rye bourbons on the market. It’s designed to have a bit more of that punch rye bourbons are known for. Having been aged for over 4 years, this bourbon still finishes smooth and clean, like a quality bourbon should. Great neat, or in a simple old-fashioned.

The cask strength program at Lost Whiskey Club is very discerning, with only our best barrels chosen for bottling. Since each one is still a single barrel, straight bourbon, it’s even more important these barrels be near perfect. There is no filtering or proofing with water. It goes in the bottle exactly as it was in the barrel. Proofing around 120, these are full flavored wheated bourbons with heavy notes of caramel, and baking spice. They carry a long, clean finish that is incredibly smooth for a barrel proof bourbon. This is the way nature intended.

Carrying on the same stringent requirements as our wheated cask strength bourbon, this high rye, cask strength bourbon is loaded with amazing rye flavor of black pepper and cinnamon spice. The finish is long and has a bit more bite than a regular straight bourbon. As with all our bourbons, we age a minimum of 4 years, and often much longer, at 120 proof to achieve that balance of sweet and spicy, all while making sure you know you're drinking a quality, single barrel, straight bourbon. Enjoy this neat, on ice, or in smoked cocktail. You really can't miss.

This offering from Lost Whiskey Club is the result of an experiment gone right. Due to a shortage of barrels in 2014, this high rye bourbon mash bill was barreled into once used bourbon barrels. We aged these barrels for about 4 years before trying the whiskey. It was very light, crisp and refreshing, but just wasn't what we were looking for. We decided to age a small amount for a year in a brand new oak barrel with a lighter char. After a few months we knew we were onto something. We got our hands on some new oak barrels with a number 3 char from the Speyside Cooperage in Atkins VA. We re-barreled each one while lowering the proof as close to bottling proof as possible. We aged them an additional 5 years.  The result is a perfectly balanced whiskey with the deep barrel flavors one would expect, without the over-oaked finish that can often accompany older whiskies. Bottled at 100 proof, it’s the prefect blend of heat, rich spices, and a finish all fine whiskey should deliver. We don’t have many barrels of this offering, so grab it while you can.
